Moving
You More to Your Core
Doug Schmidt is the director and founder of CareersPlus
Inc. His passion is to help others experience
just how wonderful life can be when you are in a career
that is congruent with your abilities, skills, talents,
personality and values.
Working
with clients, Doug has found that people are far more gifted
and talented than what they believe. With his encouragement
and support, clients have broken free from self-imposed
constraints to realize the life they want. He has
been interested in the area of personal growth and development
for over thirty years. His credentials include a Doctor
of Education (Ed.D.) degree earned in the Counselling Psychology
department at the University of Toronto, more than 10 years
experience as a career counsellor and executive coach and
25 years working in corporate environments. He can
provide you with the expertise and processes to discover
new options to your current situation and help you move
forward with clarity, confidence and purpose.
His personal story
reflects his beliefs. At mid life, he resigned his
position as a Vice-President of Finance and Administration
and returned to school to complete an undergraduate degree
and two graduate degrees. His doctoral research focused
on the factors that lead to the position of chief executive
officer of a major corporation.
He taught the
course Recreating Your Life's Journey at the University
of Toronto's School of Continuing Studies for five years
and has also presented workshops at Ryerson Polytechnical
University. Doug has presented seminars at the Mount
Alverno Retreat Centre in Caledon, the Toronto School of
Theology and for the West Toronto Counselling Network. He
has had an article
published in CMA Management magazine and has also written
on career related issues in The Canadian Treasurer.
Doug is a member
